Color Confidence for Watercolor

Day 1 Through many exercises, we will learn how to reduce the numbers of colors on our palettes by understanding how to mix the right pigments to create beautiful “neutrals”. The result is a stronger painting because the colors used will support each other rather than being a kaleidoscope of color. We will also learn about natural and synthetic pigments and the importance of reading labels. This class is a “must” to create freedom and confidence for intermediate thru advanced painters.

Day 2 We will learn the concepts of “Mother” color, unexpected color and creating “moods” with color. You will also apply your knowledge of paints, paper and techniques to help express your own personal vision through your choices of color and design. This class is integral to expanding your knowledge of color choices.

Saturday, August 24, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Sunday, August 25, 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Wet-Into-Wet Watercolors, An Intuitive Approach

Do you want your watercolors to look a little more spontaneous? Do you want to loosen up your style?

On Day 1 in this workshop, we will work on different types of wet-into-wet exercises and techniques.

On Day 2 you will do more complicated exercises including pouring that will help you re-discover the beauty of transparent watercolor painting with a strong emphasis on value.

On Day 3 you will be working on your own piece and using your intuition as your painting unfolds. This is an interactive workshop with lots of demos and an optional critique at the end of the workshop. Bring an enthusiasm for discovery!
